~ 2013 Aki Matsuri featured ~

"SHINJI HARADA Peace Concert in Aki Matsuri 2013" by the Japanese rock singer and songwriter, SHINJI HARADA and band members, Wornell Jones (Bass Guitar) and MATARO (Drum / Percussion).

Mikoshi Junkousai ... The Mikoshi from Tsubaki Grand Shrine of
America was on display during the two-day event. From
12 PM on September 7 (Saturday), 2013, there was a Shinto ceremony to purify the Omikoshi followed by the Omikoshi Junkou carrying festival in the campus courtyards.

"TV JAPAN CLUB” came to the AKI MATSURI EVENT in 2013, and the coverage was aired the following week on TV JAPAN CLUB Segment! Many matsuri visitors enjoyed the special opportunity to take a photo with a stuffed doll of “Tony-Tony Chopper” a popular character from anime “One Piece” at TV Japan Booth. |
Other popular Matsuri activities included: 2 full days of on-stage Performing Arts, Martial Art demonstrations by local dojo members, Puppet Shows, Tea Ceremony and Ikebana demonstrations, more than 75 exhibit booths, and Taiko, Japanese Gardening, Shakuhachi & Bonsai workshop, and “Nomi-no-ichi … a Japanese style flea market”.
The attendance for this 2-day event was
estimated to be 22,000+.
